I have mentioned before that I am not very appreciative of the American system of a democratic republic (even when it is actually practiced, which currently it barely is). I am more of a constitutional monarchist, but that is really neither here or there; America is where I live and that is my mother-land.
I do laugh, at times, when I see all the kerfuffle about election integrity. I certainly agree that if we have a system that allows for popular elections that it needs to be prevented from being manipulated. Furthermore, it is likely the case that it has been manipulated for far longer than President Trump claimed recently (but that is a topic for another day).
Yes, I pray that the best leaders are chosen for our nation. We need good godly leaders who will make wise choices "for the peace and welfare of the world". Why do I laugh, you may ask? Because it is such a stark contrast to the great joy of knowing that nothing can take Christ off of His throne. He is seated at the right hand of God, and no one can change that.
Whenever we worry about our world, we are supposed to turn to the confidence of Who is actually the Lord of this world. It is not those who scratch and scramble to get their positions, but rather it is Jesus Christ, Who has His position for all eternity. He Who died, was buried, rose again, and ascended into Heaven is the King of kings and Lord of lords. Work to make this world a more peaceful place; but when you do, remember the One Who is over the whole world.
