"Tonight, I was at the grocery store getting stuff for dinner. At the register, I let a guy a little bit younger than me go first. He had one of those handheld baskets that was almost overflowing, while I just had a few things in my cart.
After I put my stuff up on the belt, I got distracted playing with my daughter, and the cashier had already scanned and bagged my stuff before I noticed. When I went to pay, she asked if I knew the guy in front of me. I said I didn't. She said he paid for our stuff and left before I even got the chance to say thank you or before he got any recognition.
It was just a nice reminder that there in fact are still good people in the world who aren't trying to get attention, praise, or anything other than the knowledge that they did something to help someone else. With all the bad stuff in the news and across social media all the time, it was a nice reminder that not everyone is evil."
