On returning from my second "short vacation" this summer (only a couple days), I had a thought about vacations. It is simple, short, and hopefully helpful beyond the vacation time of summer. Why do you enjoy a vacation? Ask yourself whether it is because you just like what you did, or because you were able to find refreshment that better enables you to fulfill your calling before God. A vacation (or any other pleasure in this world) should never be merely because "we like it" (that is the worldly way of thinking). It should always be because God has granted it, and we are thankful for the grace we receive from Him.
