In the first reading for Mass today, St. Paul recounts how he "tried to destroy" the Church, but God had other plans. He does not wallow in self-pity, or dwell on how unworthy he is; he merely says that God set him apart for a work, so he is doing it. Do you ever struggle with past sins? Do you feel that they are overwhelming and God cannot possibly forgive you? Take St. Paul's example: God knows what you did, and He still wants to use you. Do not tell God "no" by denying that truth. Accept that you sinned, and that you can learn from those sins. Accept that God wants you to work in His Kingdom. Accept the love of God (as St. Paul did) and you will find great victory.
